Firewire x Tomo SKX Surfboard Review by Noel Salas:
In this surfboard review I finally get to test out my first Tomo (Daniel Thomson) surfboard, the SKX. I got this board in two different sizes and constructions. One board was sent down by Firewire in their LFT technology and the other was a custom by XTR I had done to test this board in smaller waves.
The Firewire LFT board is a stock 5’8” x 18 5/8 x 2 5/16 Liters 25.8 and the Custom XTR is 5’7 x 18 7/8 x 2 5/16 Liters 26. Both boards felt good in 2-5’ surf with a lot of speed down the line and incredible speed when pushing off the rails.
Tomo’s shapes are very unique and completely different compared to most other shapes out there. He uses a Planing Hull design coupled with what he calls a “Quad Inside Single Concave” on each of his models.
